The Osun State Government might have shot herself in the foot over the contentious gazette she used to announce the approval of a certain Oluwatimileyin Ajayi as the Olujudo of Ido Ajegunle.
This is because the gazette mentioned Ido Ayegunle, and not Ido Ajegunle. The Ido Ayegunle www.esaoketodayonline.com authoritatively learnt is a community indigenous to Ekiti State, under Efon Alaaye, while the Ido Ajegunle is indigenous to Osun State.
The lead Counsel for the Esa Oke community, Barrister Gbite Adeniyi Esq, quickly spotted this technical gaffe on the gazette and promptly alerted the Rt. Hon. Ropo Oyewole led Panel looking into the “immediate and remote causes” of the communal clashes in Ido Ajegunle in early February, during the submission of memorandums last Thursday, in Oshogbo.
The Esa Oke delegation believe that the gazette could not have any legal effect on their land since the said Ido Ayegunle it covered is a community resident in the Ekiti State side of the area.
Meanwhile, the six-member Panel of Inquiry led by Hon. Oyewole, will visit the farming area under dispute Tuesday March 18, 2025 by 13:00 hours (GMT).
The Panel decided to pay a visit to the farming community to gather first-hand information about the area.
The Panel had met on Thursday March 13, where both parties to the dispute submitted their Memorandum.
The Esa Oke community delegation was led by the Owamiran of Esa Oke, Oba Adeyemi Adediran, Atipa Owaji 11, while the lead Counsel, Barrister Gbite Adeniyi submitted the two volumes memorandum prepared by the community to the Panel.
Also, the six Obas representing the Ijesa North Traditional Council also submitted a Memorandum to the Panel.
After exchanging the Memorandums, the Panel, announced that the Panel with some select few members of both Esa Oke and Ido Ajegunle would visit the area on Tuesday.
The Owamiran of Esa Oke, Oba Adeyemi Adediran is expected to lead the Asalu of Eso Oke, High Chief James Ajewole, Bashorun Tayo Omojowogbe, Barrister Idowu Akinsola, Mr. Wumi Adeniyi, TPL Ayo Adediran, Mr. Idowu Afolami, Otunba Yinusa Bamgboye, Mr. Paul Fadairo, and other while Barrister Adeniyi will lead the Barrister Gbenga Akniyele and the other legal team.
