FG selects Esa Oke for Physical Development Planning Technical Assistance

The ancient community of Esa-Oke has been selected for physical development planning project under the Technical Assistance Scheme of Federal Government to Osun State Government.
The Consultant to the Federal Government on the Project, Messrs. Beachland Resource Limited presented the Draft Final Report on the Project to the stakeholders in the community as part of the procedure for preparation of physical development plan.
The event which took place on the 23rd August, 2024 at Esa-Oke Town Hall was attended by prominent indigenes in the community and officials of the Federal and Osun State governments.
Among the participants in the one-day consultative meeting were Kabiyesi Oba Adeyemi Akanbi Adediran, Atipa Owaji II, the Owa-Omiran in Council, Hon. Muyiwa Ige, Hon. Basorun Tayo Omojowogbe, TPl. Ayo Adediran, Wumi Adeniyi, Dr. Jimi Dada, Otunba Yinusa Bamgboye and Dele Ajayi. Tpl. Mrs Chinwe James represented the Federal Minister of Housing and Urban Development while Osun State government was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning.

In his welcome address, Kabiyesi Oba Adeyemi Akanbi, Atipa Owaji II expresed his appreciation to the Federal government for selecting the town for the physical development planning project. He equally thanked the Osun State government for providing the enabling environment for the project. He called on the people of Esa-Oke to make useful contributions to the planning process for sustainable development of the community.

The Lead Consultant and Principal Partner of Beachland Resources Ltd, Tpl (Dr.) Moses Ogunleye highlighted the significance of the development plan in the sustainable development of the town. He submitted that the Plan will guide the future physical development and land use. He therefore solicited the support of the community by making useful comment to ensure effective and efficient land use system and provision for sustainable physical and social infrastructure for the town. Presentation of the existing situation and proposed land use plan was made to the participants for consideration and comments.

Participants in the meeting make useful contributions for consideration and inclusion in the Final Plan and Report. The Client (Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development) collated all the comments and suggestions for the information of the Consultants. The Client set up 8-man Esa-Oke Physical Development Plan Advisory Committee under the Chairmanship of Hon. (Arc) Muyiwa Ige to consider the comment and review the Plan for further action of the Consultants. The Committee was given 3 weeks to conclude its work and submit to the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.
