We are Overwhelmed by the people’s Support, Says Ajewole, Asalu

The Asalu of Esa Oke, High Chief James Ajewole, has expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the entire people of Esa Oke for their unprecede3nted support to his clan over the attempt by some strangers to hijack their family land in Ido Ayegunle.


Chief Ajewole spoke to www.esaoketodayonline.com Monday, 10 Mrach, shortly after the Esa Oke impressive delegation led by the Owamiran of Esa Oke, Oba Adeyemi Akanbi Adediran, Atipa Owaji 11, presented all the historical documents and evidences to prove that the land under the contention has also been part and parcel of Esa Oke Kingdom.


In the entourage were members of the Esa Oke Renewal Initiative, (ERI) led by Mr. Wunmi Adeniyi, TPL Ayo Adediran, and barrister Gbite Adeniyi, while the Esa Oke Central Union, (ECU) was led by Otunba Yinusa Bamigboye, Chairman and Professor Abiodun Oni, Secretary of the Board of Trustees (BOT).
Barristers Gbite Adeniyi and Barrister Bode Akinyele, led the legal team.


However, the presentation of the documents was done in camera.
Highly impressed after the presentation, the head of the Isalu Community, the community indigenous to the Ido Ayegunle land, was full of praises and gratitude to the Esa Oke people for their support, which according to him was unprecedented.
He believed that the community case would be successful at the panel.
www.esaoketodayonline.com can recalled that the dispute over the ownership of Ido Ayegunle, a farming outpost of Esa Oke started around 1996. Since then, there have been clashes between some of the farm workers who are claiming ownership and the original owners of the land.


The crisis snowballed into a huge crises on Monday, February 3, which resulted in loss of properties and serious injuries on both side. This forced the State Government to set up a Panel of Inquiry to look into the “immediate and remote causes” of the crisis.
The six-man Panel of Inquiry headed by the Rt. Hon. Ropo Oyewole was inaugurated by the Osun State Governor, Mr. Ademola Adeleke. The panel has two weeks to submit its report.
