
Impressed with the well-organized 2026 Ijesa North Diocesan Synod held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Esa-Oke, the Diocesan, Rt. Revd Isaac Oluyamo has appointed Hon. Michael Adeniyi Ekundayo of the Esa Oke Archdeaconry, as the Chairman, 2027 Synod Committee scheduled to hold in Ilase-Ijesa Archdeaconry.
The Diocesan, Rt. Revd Isaac Oluyamo was so impressed with the organization of the Synod that he openly praised the organization acumen and sagacity of Hon. Ekundayo, and therefore tasked him with the organization of the coming year’s synod scheduled to hold in Ilase-Ijesa Archdeaconry.

Esa Oke Today Magazine can recall that the retired Secondary School
Teacher and astute politician, a one-time Vice Chairman of Obokun Local Government Council, also served as Synod Committee Chairman during the 2019 Synod at the same St Paul’s Church, Esa-Oke with accolades.
Bishop Oluyamo noted that Hon. Ekundayo has become an expert in the area of profound planning of successful Synods.
The number one Anglican Cleric in Ijesa North announced the appointment during the presentation of the 2026 Bishop’s charge witnessed by eminent spiritual fathers, the Regent of Esa-Oke, Dr Paul Abimbola Olamiju, Dean Emeritus, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) and retired Archbishop of Lagos Province, Most Revd Adebola Ademowo with his Wife, Mrs Oluranti Ademowo. Also ten Bishops from various Anglican Dioceses and eminent political leaders were present at the Synod.
The Bishop specifically praised the 2026 Synod host, Chief (Sir) Oladosu Fatokun (Asiwaju of Esa- Oke land) who graciously endowed Ijesa North Diocese with a whopping sum of 20 million Naira and entertained delegates from the Diocese as well as other guests from all over the country with another whopping sum of 5 million Naira
Besides, the Cleric lauded the immense contributions of the Baba Ijo, St. Paul’s Church, Chief (Engr) J.F Babajide, who had just. been appointed one of the Diocesan Patrons, the
Iya Ijo, Chief (Mrs) Eunice Ogunleye, Pastor Busayo Adeniyi and Sir Muyiwa Ige among several other donors. The publisher of Esa-Oke Today magazine, High Chief Dr. Edward Omotoso, Balogun of Esa Oke, also donated generously to the funding of the Synod.
The Bishop used the occasion to plead with President Bola Tinubu to find an immediate solution to the spate of insecurity in the country.
According to him, Nigerians are now living in fears and penury occasioned by banditry, insurgencies, abduction of innocent citizens and economic starvation.
Highlights of the Synod. Ceremonies include dedication of various projects such as New Vicar’s Office, Modern Public Toilets, Marble Seats, and Church Fence funded by the Children of late Lay reader Alice Adegbite. In the three-day epoch-making religious festival was rounded off on Sunday with a Thanksgiving service presided over by the Diocesan.
The next year’s Synod will be hosted by Ilase-Ijesa Archdeaconry of Ijesa North Diocese.
