
The search and wait for the selection of a new candidate to fill the vacant stool of Owa Omiran might soon be over, as the process of selection is said to have progressed to its final stage.
Also, www.esaoketodayonline.com now has all the names of the five contestants to the vacant stool. The magazine shall also start publishing the Curriculum Vitae of each of the contestants as from Wednesday October 7, 2026.
The magazine learnt that only five candidates have fulfilled the conditions set by the leadership of both the Gogodudu Anaye Ruling House and the Owa Omiran-in-Council.
The conditions are possession of relevant educational and professional background, stable marital home, reasonable financial status and payment of both Nomination Fee and Expression of Interest Fee. The fees are required to be paid directly to the bank accounts of the Ruling House and Owamiran-in-Council, Esa Oke.
Also, the State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs is said to have fixed its “Expression of Interest” form at ten million five hundred thousand naira only (#10,500,000.00).
The five candidates jostling for the stool of their fore-fathers are:
Adedeji Olalekan Adegbite,
Adetola Adeniyi,
Adewumi Olusola Adeniyi,
Aderogba Olusegun Ola-Ajiboye, and,
Adebayo Emmanuel Aregbesola
The Regent and Ogboni of Esa Oke, High Chief Paul Abimbola Olamiju, members of the Owa Omiran-in-Council, Council of Elders, Esa Oke Central Union (ECU) were scheduled to have an interactive session with the contestants on Monday, October 5. However, the contestants were not present in person; they sent their representatives.
At the interactive session also were the officials of the Osun State Ministry of Chieftaincy and Local Government Affairs, the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), the DPO of Esa Oke Divisional Headquarters and his men.
In his remarks, Mr. Sunday Olaitan, who represented the Director of Chieftaincy Affairs, Osun State Ministry of Local Government announced that payment for and collection of the “Expression of Interest” form for the vacant stool of Owa Omiran of Esa Oke would close by midday, Monday, October 12, 2026. He therefore urged any contestant interested in obtaining the form to do so before the close of work on Friday, October 9, 2026. He made the announcement during the interactive session with the Ogboni of Esa Oke, High Chief Paul Abimbola Olamiju, members of the Owa Omiran-in-Council and the representatives of the contestants on Monday October 5.
By the time the interactive session started, www.esaoketodayonline.com learnt authoritatively that five contestants had indicated their interest by paying in full, the fee demanded by the Gogodudu Anaye Ruling House and the Owa Omiran-in-Council.
According to the Regent, all efforts were being made to ensure a clean, clear, fair and inclusive process that will produce the best candidate for the stool of Owa Omiran.
