The Ogboni and current Regent of Esa Oke, High Chief Paul Abimbola Olamiju has warned all the aspirants to the vacant throne of Owa Omiran that they risked being sanctioned heavily, or face outright disqualification if they fail to rein in their supporters from acts that are capable of throwing the community into turmoil.
He also frowned at the posting of “unfounded speculatory Ifa Corpus divination” on social media by some candidates’ supporters.
Also, the Chairman of the Gogodudu (Anaye) Ruling House, Chief Adebayo Olaitan has dissociated himself from those bandying about the speculations about an outcome of an Ifa divination.
He emphasized that he was not a party to those who said they brought Ifa diviners into the compound; and neither did he authorise them.
Chief Olaitan, a retired Secondary School Principal, in an interview with www.esaoketodayonline.com insisted that, at the appropriate time, proper Ifa divination would be done on selection of the candidate to fill the vacant stool of Owa Omiran.
Chief Olaitan warned about the dangers of peddling rumours that were capable of puncturing the peace of the entire community.
Regent Olamiju therefore, sent a note to all the aspirants, warning them that “the Owamiran-in-Council would not take kindly to disruptive behaviours by their supporters and promoters”.
He warned all the “aspirants to please rein in their supporters. They should allow the Kingmakers to conscientiously perform the sacred duty of selecting the next Owa Omiran in an environment devoid of acrimony or rancour”.
He informed them that “carrying unfounded rumours and/or posting false information in the social media by supporters and promoters alike about the sacred issue of selection of the next Owa Omiran may attract stiff penalties, including disqualification.The Regent further disclosed to www.esaoketodayonline.com that “members of the Owa Omiran-in-Council are yet to be officially presented with the names of contenders from the ruling house”.
