… Bamgboye leads ECU Visit, Presents Letters of Selection
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, all is now set for the grand installation of the new Balogun and Yeye Balogun of Esa Oke Kingdom on Saturday, April 19, 2025.
This is sequel to the official presentation of the presentation of the letter of selection to Dr. Edward Balogun and his wife, Mrs. Florence Olufunmilayo Omotoso by the Owamiran-in-Council.
The installation ceremony according to the press release on behalf of the Looyin Saode Omotoso Chieftaincy family, signed by Oloye Akin Onifade, the Sajuku of Esa Oke, stated that the new Balogun will be installed on Saturday, April 19 at the Palace of Owamiran of Esa Oke.
To make the event a grand one, a three-member Planning Committee has been put in place. The committee is headed by the Asiwaju of Esa Oke, Chief (Hon) Dosu Fatoku, President of the Esa Oke Council of Elders, Engr. Joshua Folorunsho Babajide and Oloye Akin Onifade, the Sajuku of Esa Oke.
The Chairman of the Esa Oke Central Union, (ECU) Otunba Yinusa Aremu Bamgboye presented the letter of selection to the couple in their residence in Oke Iloro area of Oke Esa Quarters’, Esa Oke, on behalf of the Owamiran of Esa Oke, HRM Oba Adeyemi Akanbi Adediran, Atipa Owaji 11 on Friday April 4.
Otunba Bamigboye also used the occasion to lead some Executives and members of the Central Union on a welcome visit to the former world renowned diplomat, on his arrival home from his base in New York, United States.
An elated Balogun designate expressed delight on the current spirit conviviality and camaraderie among Esa Oke Indigenes, both at home and in diaspora.
He expressed total joy and happiness on meeting those he described as ‘promoters of new Esa Oke’.
The retired diplomat disclosed that he has been involved in Esa Oke developmental agenda since he was in primary school noted that the labour of Esa heroes must not be in vain.
He applauded the meritorious contributions of other past leaders like late Asiwaju of Esa Oke, Chief Bola Ige, late Mr. Olaniyi Faseyi and host of others.
The former United Nations top official enjoined the present crop of leaders in Esa Oke to be more proactive and ensure that the town retains her rightful position in Ijesaland in particular and in Osun State in general.
He however, implored notable individuals and clubs such as Esa Oke Central Union, Esa Oke Renewal Initiative, Esa Oke Country Club, The Exclusive Club among others to always put heads together for the well-being of the town
The former Director of Information of United Nations counselled on the need to bring Hon. Oluwole Oke to the mainstream of Esa Oke developmental strides.
He acknowledged the warm reception accorded him by members of ERI when he arrived Lagos from his New York base, saying ‘the memory of the remarkable reception will be indelible’.
Dr. Omotoso disclosed as part of the installation programme on April 20, he would like to host members of the Executive Council of Esa Oke, Esa Oke Central Union, Esa Oke Council of Elders, Esa Oke Renewal Initiative, Esa Oke Country club and Exclusive Club of Esa Oke on Easter Sunday.
Dr. Omotoso, flanked by his wife, Mrs Florence Olufunmilayo Omotoso and the Sajuku of Esa Oke, Oloye Akin Onifade ‘expressed his deep appreciation and happiness on meeting the Chairman and members of the Esa Oke Central Union (ECU).
Meanwhile, the Education Committee of the ECU disclosed at the occasion that the list of Bursary Awardees has been finalized and that the disbursement will be made soon.
The retired diplomat expressed gratitude to the Committee for the thorough selection of the awardees for this year Bursary Award.
He praised the Committee for ‘a good job been done in the selection process’.
The chairman of Committee used the occasion to present the list of the awardees to Dr. Omotoso.
