The Ogboni (Regent) of Esa Oke, High Chief Paul Abimbola Olamiju has placed an embargo on further postings, discussions and other write ups on the selection of a new Owa Omiran of Esa Oke on all the social media platforms.
This embargo shall be in effect until the final announcement of the new Owa Omiran by the relevant authority.
The Regent said if this drastic step was not taken, most of the posts on the social media could thrown the town into chaos and rupture her peaceful co-existence.
The Regent therefore directed all “the Admins of all the WhatsApp and other social media platforms to stop all posting relating to the issue of selection of the next Owa-Omiran, henceforth”
This embargo shall be in place until the “final announcement of a substantive Owa – Omiran by the relevant authority in the community”.
The Regent added that this “No Post” order covers all social media platforms, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Tik-Tok, Snapchat, and X (formerly Twitter). The “no post” order shall be effective till the announcement of a new Owa-Omiran.
He therefore, appealed “to you all to bear with us while we navigate this difficult phase in our community”.

He further stated that the “Owa Omiran-in-Council sadness and disgust the activities of our sons and daughters on the various community- based WhatsApp platforms”. According to him, “while we are not attempting to gag anyone from expressing his or her God’s given and Constitutional Right of Freedom of Association and expression, we are of the opinion that these online activities should be curbed before the entire community is thrown into chaos”.
“We fully appreciate your fears and concerns concerning the selection of our next paramount ruler – Owa Omiran. We are assuring you all that we have heard your concerns, and we are diligently working hard to produce the best of the excellent princes as your new Owa -Omiran”.
He continued that “we cannot afford to fail nor falter at this critical stage. We know where we are coming from as a community. Therefore the need to meticulously screen all the candidates using all available parameters, including Ifa divination, to bring the best out of the lot”
He concluded that “we sincerely thank you for your love, concern and patriotism for our Esa-Oke community”.
