
While women wailed, children gnashed their teeth, elders taken deep breath, looking lugubriously, mourning the passing of the monarch, Oba Adeyemi Akanbi Adediran, Atipa Owaji 11.
However, elders led by Ogboni of Esa Oke, High Chief Paul Abimbola Olamiju have continued to received messages of condolences and support from near and far.
Chiefs amongst the earlier callers was the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, who condoled with the people of Esa-Oke over the passage of the Owamiran of Esa-Oke, Oba Adeyemi Adediran.
This was contained in a statement signed and released by the spokesperson to the governor, Olawale Rasheed, obtained in Osogbo over the weekend.
The statement noted that the revered monarch reportedly joined his ancestors in the early hours of Wednesday.
Adeleke, in his condolence message obtained in Osogbo, described the late royal father as a highly respected personality whose reign was marked by wisdom and steadfast commitment to the growth and unity of Esa-Oke and the entire Ijesa land.
In the condolence message, Adeleke stated, “I received the news of the transition of the Owamiran of Esa-Oke, Oba Adeyemi Akanbi Adediran, with a heavy heart. Osun State has lost a distinguished monarch and a father figure who devoted his life to the service of his people and the preservation of our cherished cultural values.
“Kabiyesi’s reign reflected humility, maturity, and an enduring commitment to peace and development. His wise counsel and stabilising influence will be greatly missed not only by the people of Esa-Oke but by the entire state.”
The governor further noted that the late monarch played a significant role in fostering harmony and communal progress in Obokun Local Government Area and beyond.
“The late Owamiran leaves behind a legacy of honour, integrity, and selfless leadership. His contributions to community development and the strengthening of traditional institutions will remain evergreen in our hearts,” he remarked.
He condoled the royal family, the people of Esa-Oke, the Obokun Traditional Council and the entire Ijesa community, and prayed that God grants the soul of the departed monarch eternal rest and gives his people the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
